This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the current role of education system in helping the process of political development. The research method is descriptive and quantitative content analysis with practical approach. The research population includes textbooks in the field of educating and learning humanities as well as special objectives and programs of secondary school in the first academic year of 2020-2021. Due to the nature of the research and limitation of the statistical population, the entire research population is considered as a sample. The measurement tool was a researcher-made content analysis checklist and the research results were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics indicators through SPSS software. In a summary and based on frequencies obtained from this research and data analysis, it can be concluded that: the textbooks in the field of educating and learning humanities and the goal and special curricula in terms of creating and cultivating the examined concepts and components for political development to students have been inappropriate and very weak and therefore it can be said that they do not provide the necessary ground for the political development of students. Also, studies showed that even with this minimal attention, a logical trend was not followed while distributing the components. This means that the authors of these textbooks and policymakers have not paid special or targeted attention to the issue of political development whether in terms of conceptualization or in terms of knowing the components mentioned in this study.

Underdevelopment is the main problem in developing countries including Iran. This problem always has been concerned of thinker and policy makers after the Islamic Revolution that has created multiple discourses and has made different relations with development planning in different periods. The Period after the Islamic Revolution until 2013 within five social situations was studied based on situational analysis method (logic of the situation) for describing obstacles of development planning. It has been tried to analyze situation of development planning, especially oriented to critical humanities in each period. Actors, institutions and main streams that effect process of planning and making decision have been evaluated. Results show that development planning and modernization processes in Iran face to fundamental challenges in two theoretical (critical rationalism) and practical (social engineering) levels. Success in development planning in terms of epistemology requires realistic understanding of problems, progress humanities and critic thoughts and also it needs gradual reforms, critic of performances and expanding social participation in policy processes in social aspect.

This paper addresses the issue of using ICTs to improve environmental standards of Iran. The objective of this paper is to examine the impact of ICTs on Iranians’ environmental adaptation. The paper contributes to the production of knowledge in the area of promoting sustainable development based on the necessities of Iran's environment. We used a theoretical synthesis that establishes a logical link between ecological sustainability, community empowerment, and participatory development. Methodologically, we committed to Jensen and Jankowski’s approach while using a quantitative approach to collect data. Some of the findings indicate that the use of ICTs has a direct and significant effect on the friendly approach of the people towards the environment (r = 0.4). On the other hand, the mean effect of ICTs on information capital is 22.84, and the mean effect of ICTs on environmental awareness is 25.62. Also, the mean impact of ICTs on environmental empowerment (26.40) and the mean effect of ICTs on environmental participation (53.61) show a higher range than the expected mean. It means that there is good awareness of the application of ICTs in Iran’s environment. Moreover, an analysis of the structural equations modeling shows that ICTs with a path coefficient of β = 0.58 affected information capital. Different results indicate that information capital affects environmental awareness, environmental empowerment, and environmental participation with the path coefficients of β = 0.65, β = 0.45 and β = 0.52 respectively.

Among various influencing factors on sustainable consumption, are basic social value orientations, as the cornerstone for any human behavior, including consumer behavior. The present survey study aimed at investigating the relationships between basic social value orientations, including; materialism, individualism, and collectivism (besides their sub-scales), with sustainable consumption. The study population includes all 15-64 years old citizens of Urmia City, from whom 516 are selected to be studied by the use of cluster sampling technique. Findings show that centrality dimension of materialism has shown negative and significant, and both horizontal individualism and horizontal collectivism have shown positive and significant correlations with sustainable consumption. Multiple regression results indicate that these three variables accounted for 19 percent of the variation in sustainable consumption.

Research-oriented environments in universities and higher education institutions play an important role in achieving the goals of research in higher education so that it can be expected that if graduate students interact effectively with supervisors, they will have a high sense of efficacy. The main purpose of this study was to present an explanatory model of students’ research self-efficacy in research oriented environments. In this model, the relationship between research-oriented environments, quality of student-supervisor interactions and research self-efficacy was investigated. In terms of the objectives, the research method was of the applied type and regarding collecting data it was descriptive. M.A and PhD graduate students of public universities of western Iran (Ilam, Razi, Luristan, and Kurdistan) constituted the population of the study, of whom 482 students were selected through stratification sampling method. To collect the data, three valid and reliable questionnaires were used. The data was analyzed using path analysis, and the correlation test showed that there is a significant relationship between research-oriented environments (r=0.61), quality of student-supervisor interaction (r=0.57) and research self-efficacy (r=0.38). The results indicate that the hypothesized model has complete fit with the observed data. In this model, the direct effect of research training environments on the quality of student-supervisor interaction and research self-efficacy and also their indirect effect on research self-efficacy were significant in a positive way.

The aim of this study is to analyze the collaboration network of authors and institutions in papers published in the quarterly journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities from the first to the 27th issue. Accordingly, the number of publications, authorship patterns, most productive authors and institutions, characteristics of collaboration networks as well as authors’ areas of expertise were studied. To conduct this applied research, scientometric and social network analysis indicators were utilized. Moreover, UCINet software was used for visualization and analysis of scientific collaboration networks. Results of the study revealed that 185 papers written by 272 researchers from 70 institutions have been published in the first 27 issues of the journal. Investigating the collaboration network of researchers showed that they tend to publish individually or collaboratively in small groups. 48.65% of the papers were single-authored and 51.53% weremultiple-authored. Moreover, Shahid Beheshti University, University of Tehran, Tarbiat Modaress University as well as Kharazmi University played the most important and central roles in collaboration network of institutions in the journal. Last but not least, the fields with the highest share of publication in Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in Humanities were Educational Sciences, Political Sciences and Management.

It is about forty years that some of Iran’s policy makers and experts in social and human sciences are of the opinion that there should be an evolution in humanities. They are of the view that principles and basic assumptions of current humanities are in conflict with Islamic framework and consequently these doctrines are not appropriate to address local issues of Islamic countries. Since the Islamic Revolution of Iran of 1979, any change in these doctrines has been a matter of debate. But we need a new plan for making a change in our policies. Applying interdisciplinary approach permit us to find a new way for policy making in society. History is full of lessons to guide us in our present situations. Therefore, by taking into account, the sociology of science and issues of policy-making, we study the Translation Movement. This article shows the transfer and transformation of Greek philosophy to Islamic philosophy in 7- 10 A.D. in Islamic civilization and also proposes an alternative approach for the policy makers. We identify actors of transferring knowledge, scientific translators and the Abbasid State. Research model of this paper has been chosen from the sociology of science and also makes use of "Implication Research Methodology” with regard to history. Our suggestion is "Transformational Translation (Transforlation) " that includes selecting best texts, translations, correction, explanation, criticism and innovation. Accordingly, policies should be revised after identifying discipline on Transforlation Chain and structures and human resources have to be formalized on the basis of revised policies.

Interdisciplinary studies can play a pivotal role in the growth and development of sciences, especially the humanities. In the present article, through semi-structured interviews with some experts and thinkers in Iran and the content analysis of their ideas, attempt is made to answer these questions: in the view of experts, what are the main obstacles to the development of humanities in Iran? And what role can interdisciplinary studies play in the development of humanities? The results of the study show that according to experts, “interdisciplinary development”, having the twelfth place among the sixteen important factors in the development of humanities, does not have a considerable effect on the development of humanities in Iran per se, and its efficacy depends on the existence of more important conditions, such as the provision of an open intellectual climate at universities and the independence of scientific community. The development of interdisciplinary studies can play a part in the development of humanities in Iran, only if it results in scientific synergy among experts in different disciplines of humanities, improves the scientific ability of professors, students and researchers, and makes humanities more applicable in society.
