چکیده

آینده‌پژوهی را باید اقدامی فرارشته‌ای و علمی اجتماعی دانست؛ فرارشته‌ای، به دلیل آنکه هم در راه رسیدن به یافته‌ها و گزاره‌های خود و هم برای توجیه آن‌‌ها از رشته‌های گوناگون بسیاری استفاده می‌‌کند و علمی عمل‌گرا، به دلیل آن که می‌‌خواهد اطلاعات موردنیاز برای اقدام‌های بشری را فراهم آورد؛ اقدام‌هایی که برای شکل دادن به آینده طراحی می‌شوند. آینده‌‌پژوهی برخلاف روند تخصصی‌شدن و تفکیک رشته‌‌ها و حرفه‌های گوناگون، به‌مثابه علمی فرارشته‌ای در حال تکوین و تکامل است. قلمرو موضوعی آینده‌پژوهی، تمام بخش‌های فرهنگ، اقتصاد، سیاست، تکنولوژی و هنر را در بر گرفته و نظر به تغییرات پیش رو، موضوعات آن رو به افزایش است. این مطالعه که دارای جهت‌گیری اکتشافی-توصیفی می‌باشد، با مروری بر مقالات و کتب موجود در حوزه آینده‌ پژوهی، تلاش دارد سیر تحولات فرارشته آینده‌پژوهی را در دهه­‌های 1960 و 1970 بررسی نماید و ضمن شناسایی مؤسسات و اندیشمندان تأثیرگذار بر این روند، پارادایم‌هایی را که پس از جنگ جهانی دوم و جنگ سرد شکل گرفته، برشمرد. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که تاکنون دو  پارادایم در سیر تحول آینده‌‌پژوهی وجود داشته است و نشانه‌‌هایی از ظهور یک پارادایم نیز جدید به چشم می خورد.
