The quarterly journal of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities is an open access double blind peer reviewed journal established and published by the Institute for Social & Cultural studies affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research & Technology. It aims to create a space of dialogue from the interdisciplinary perspective of different practical, empirical and theoretical researches involved in the fields of the humanities. Authorship Guidelines

Authorship credit should be based on: (i) Substantial contributions to conception and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data, (ii) Drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and (iii) Final approval of the version to be submitted for publication. All of these conditions should be met by all authors. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an acknowledgments section. All authors must agree on the sequence of authors listed before submitting the article. All authors must agree to designate one author as the corresponding author for the submission. It is the responsibility of corresponding author to arrange the whole manuscript upon the requirements and to dialogue with the co-authors during the peer-reviewing and proofing stages and to also act on behalf.


The Journal of Interdisciplinary studies in the Humanities is committed to uphold the highest standards of publication ethics. Manuscripts are assumed not to be published previously in print or electronic version and are not under consideration by another publication. Copies of related or possibly duplicated materials (including those containing significantly similar content or using same data) that have been published previously or are under consideration for another publication must be provided at the time of online submission. All authors submitting their works to the ISIH for publication as original articles attest that the submitted works represent their authors' contributions and have not been copied or plagiarized in whole or in part from other works. The authors acknowledge that they have disclosed all and any actual or potential conflicts of interest with their work or partial benefits associated with it.It is important to avoid: Data fabrication and falsification, Plagiarism, multiple submissions and redundant publications.


It is important for all ISIH authors to recognize that plagiarism in any form, at any level, is a serious academic offence and we will consider it as a breach of educational ethics. This journal aims to publish original high quality research work. Submission of manuscript to this journal indicates that the article has not been published anywhere or not been submitted elsewhere for publication. If a author(s) are using any part of published paper (in English or any other language), they should give proper reference. Plagiarized manuscripts would not be considered for publication. If plagiarism is found in any published paper after internal investigation, a letter would be immediately sent to all the authors, their affiliated institutes and funding agency, if applied and subsequently the paper will be retracted.

Conflict of interest

Conflict of interest is a part of research ethics and all authors must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work. Examples of potential conflicts of interest which should be disclosed include employment, consultancies, grants or other funding. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed at the earliest possible stage If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should state that.


 Requirements for new submission

Submission to ISIH journal proceeds totally online and authors will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of the manuscript files. All figures, tables and supplementary data should be embedded and included in the main manuscript file.

Manuscripts should be typed in MS-Word format in one column with 2.5 cm margin at each side. Manuscript submission must be applied once in order to obtain only one submission ID number. More than one submission for a single manuscript can lose the chance of the manuscript consideration.

Interdisciplinarity: The subject of the article needs to be explored from the perspective of two or more disciplines. Otherwise, regardless of the quality of the manuscript, it will be rejected.

Full paper (original article): A full paper covers a full report of the results of original research required for the precise description and clear interpretation of the work. Other forms including review article, short paper, scientific reports etc will be rejected in initial checking.

Manuscript confirmation: Authors submitting a paper must have confirmed that the manuscript has been read and approved by all authors and agree to the submission of the manuscript to the ISIH. Authors should agree on the sequence of authors and corresponding author.

Article Length: The length of articles is normally 6,000 to 9,000 words and should not exceed from the mentioned maximum, including an abstract and notes.

Abstract Length: abstracts should be minimum of 150 to maximum of 250 words in length.

English Abstract: Manuscript should be written according to sound grammar and proper terminology.

Number of Documents for submission: Authors are needed to submit at least 3 documents:

1. Blinded document including the abstracts and body of the article without name of the authors

2. Title page including the title of manuscript and author(s) contact information, affiliationand university, fields of study, city and country.

3. Authorship and conflict of interest statement


 Requirements for revising submissions

English Language Writing: Authors whose first language is not English should make sure their manuscript is written in correct English before submission. Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). No language and copy-editing services are provided by the ISIH; hence, authors who feel their manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors are encouraged to obtain such services prior to submission. Authors are responsible for all costs associated with such services.


Article format

Manuscript Title

Title of up to 17 words should not contain the name of locations, countries or cities of the research as well as abbreviations. The title should be oriented to Environmental issues while not being obscure or meaningless.


An abstract of 150 to 250 words that sketches the purpose of the study; basic procedures; main findings its novelty; discussions and the principal conclusions, should not contain any undefined abbreviations or references.


Provide 5 to 7 keywords which can be used for indexing purposes. Keywords should not repeat the words of the manuscript title or contain abbreviations and shall be written in alphabetical order as separated by semicolon. Abbreviations should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter through the text.


The Introduction should state the purpose of the investigation and identify clearly the gap of knowledge that will be filled in the Literature review study. Date and location of the research carried out throughout the study must be mentioned at the end of this section.


The Materials and Methods section should provide enough information to permit repetition of the experimental work. It should include clear descriptions and explanations of sampling procedures, experimental design, and essential sample characteristics and descriptive statistics, hypothesis tested, exact references to literature describing the tests used in the manuscript, number of data involved in statistical tests, etc.

Results and Discussion

The Results section should describe the outcome of the study. Data should be presented as concisely as possible - if appropriate in the form of tables or figures, although very large tables should be avoided. The Discussion should be an interpretation of the results and their significance with reference to work by other authors. Please note that the policy of the Journal with respect to units and symbols is that of SI symbols.


This section should highlight the major, firm discoveries, and state what the added value of the main finding is, without literature references.


Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section before the reference list. The names of funding organizations should be written in full. Financial support affiliation of the study, if exists, must be mentioned in this section. Thereby, the Grant number of financial support must be included.


All the references should be cited throughout the manuscript text as well as in the Reference section organized in accordance with APA system. References should be listed first alphabetically, then chronologically. The number of references extracted from each journal should not exceed 3 to 5 citations, which is the average acceptable amount. It is recommended that the number of references preferably is not less than 30. It is also substantially recommended to the authors to refer to recent references in last 10 years rather than old and out of date ones. Volume, issue and doi of the whole references must be specified according to the ISIH format.


Do not submit tables and graphs as photograph. Place explanatory matters in footnotes, not in the heading. Do not use internal horizontal and vertical rules. Tables should be called out in the text and should have a clear and rational structure and consecutive numerical order. All tables should be numbered (1, 2, 3, etc.). Give enough information in subtitles so that each table is understandable without reference to the text. For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table. Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption. Tables should be with the captions placed above in limited numbers.

Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.


Figures/ illustrations should be in high quality art work, within 200-300 dpi and separately provided in Excel format. Ensure that figures are clear, labeled, and of a size that can be reproduced legibly in the journal. The manuscript should include a separate list of figures.

Following remarks should be applied to the figures:

- Each figure should have a concise caption describing accurately what the figure depicts. Include the captions in the text file of the manuscript, not in the figure file.

- Figure captions begin with the term Fig. Figures should be with the captions placed below in limited numbers.

- No punctuation is to be placed at the end of the caption. 

- Identify all elements found in the figure in the figure caption; and use boxes, circles, etc., as coordinate points in graphs.

- Identify previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference citation at the end of the figure caption.


 Other Required Materials


Highlights are a short collection of bullet points that convey the core findings and provide readers with a quick textual overview of the article. It should be three to five bullet points describe the essence of the research (e.g. results or conclusions) and highlight what is distinctive about it. Highlights will be displayed in the online article, but will not (yet) appear in the article PDF file or print.

  • Include 3 to 5 highlights.
  • There should be a maximum of 85 characters, including spaces, per highlight.
  • Only the core results of the paper should be covered.

Graphical Abstract

A Graphical Abstract is a single, concise, pictorial and visual summary of the main findings of the article.

  • A Graphical Abstract should be a one-image file and should visualize one process or make one point clear. For ease of browsing, the Graphical Abstract should have a clear start and end, preferably "reading" from top to bottom or left to right. Try to reduce distracting and cluttering elements as much as possible.
  • Image size: Please provide an image with a minimum of 531 x 1328 pixels (hxw) using a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. If you are submitting a larger image then please use the same ratio (200 high x 500 wide).
  • Font: Please use Times, Arial, Courier or Symbol font with a large enough font size a.
  • File type: preferred file types are TIFF, EPS, & PDF.
  • No additional text, outline or synopsis should be included. Any text or label must be part of the image file. Please do not use unnecessary white space or a heading “Graphical Abstract” within the image file.
